Serpae Tetra (3 cm) – Hyphessobrycon eques
The Serpae Tetra is a small, active freshwater fish known for its striking red body, black-edged fins, and sparkling scales. At 3 cm, these juveniles are perfect for adding vibrant colour and movement to mid-level swimming areas in community aquariums.
Serpae Tetras are schooling fish and do best in groups of 6 or more. While generally peaceful, they can be slightly nippy, so they are best kept with robust or fast-moving community fish of similar size. Hardy and beginner-friendly, they thrive in well-planted tanks with moderate water flow.
