The Electric Yellow is one of the most popular African cichlids, prized for its bright solid yellow colour and contrasting black highlights on the fins. Their bold colour, active swimming, and relatively mild temperament for a Malawi cichlid make them an excellent choice for African cichlid aquariums.
Electric Yellows are semi-aggressive Mbuna and do best in rocky aquariums with plenty of hiding places and tankmates of similar size and temperament. They are hardy, active fish that quickly become a focal point in any cichlid display.
