The Dragon Blood Peacock is a striking Lake Malawi peacock cichlid, known for its deep red body, vibrant blue highlights, and iridescent fins. At 5 cm, juveniles are still developing their full adult coloration, making them an exciting addition to any cichlid display tank.
Dragon Blood Peacocks are semi-aggressive but peaceful with compatible tankmates. They thrive in Malawi aquariums with plenty of rocks, open swimming space, and other peacocks or similarly sized Haplochromines. Their vivid colours and calm temperament make them a favourite among hobbyists.
