The Longfin Balloon Red Gold Ram is a stunning designer variety of the popular Ram Cichlid (Mikrogeophagus ramirezi), admired for its brilliant red and golden colours, compact balloon-shaped body, and elegant flowing fins. Its vibrant appearance and peaceful temperament make it a standout centrepiece for planted aquariums and peaceful community tanks.
Despite their eye-catching looks, these rams thrive best in warm, stable water with excellent filtration and regular maintenance. They are happiest in well-established aquariums with plenty of plants, driftwood, caves, and gentle tank mates. During breeding they may become slightly territorial, but they are generally calm and compatible with other peaceful tropical fish.
A varied diet of high-quality micro pellets, flakes, frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, and other protein-rich foods will help maintain their health and enhance their vivid colours.
