The Silver Dollar is a popular freshwater schooling fish known for its impressive size, rounded body shape and bright, reflective silver colouring. Large Silver Dollars make a fantastic feature fish for spacious community aquariums and are particularly impressive when kept in a group.
Despite their size, Silver Dollars are generally peaceful and active fish that spend much of their time swimming throughout the aquarium. They are best kept with other similarly sized, peaceful fish and appreciate plenty of open swimming space.
Silver Dollars are hardy when properly acclimated and thrive in clean, well-filtered water. They are primarily herbivorous, so a varied diet containing quality pellets, flakes and plenty of vegetable-based foods is recommended.
