Longfin Serpae Tetra

Longfin Serpae Tetra

The Longfin Serpae Tetra is a striking freshwater schooling fish known for its vibrant red-orange body, dark markings and beautifully elongated fins. Its flowing fins give this popular tetra an extra level of colour and elegance compared with the standard Serpae Tetra.

Despite its bold appearance, the Longfin Serpae Tetra is an active and generally peaceful community fish when kept in a suitable group. We recommend keeping them in groups of 6 or more, where they feel more secure and display their natural schooling behaviour.

They look particularly impressive in planted aquariums with darker substrate and plenty of open swimming space. Keep them with other peaceful fish of a similar size, and avoid very slow-moving or long-finned tank mates if fin nipping becomes an issue.
