Blue Jewel Cichlid

Blue Jewel Cichlid

The Blue Jewel Cichlid is a stunning freshwater cichlid known for its vibrant blue colouring, shimmering spots and striking red tones around the face and fins. As they mature, their colours can become even more impressive, making them a fantastic feature fish for a suitable cichlid aquarium.

Blue Jewel Cichlids are active and intelligent fish with plenty of personality. However, they can become territorial and aggressive, particularly when spawning, so they are best kept with appropriately sized and robust tank mates or as part of a carefully planned cichlid setup.

They appreciate plenty of swimming space, rockwork and caves that provide hiding places and help establish territories. Clean, well-filtered water and a varied diet of quality cichlid pellets, frozen foods and other suitable foods will help maintain their health and vibrant colouration.
