Green Neon Tetra

The Green Neon Tetra is a small, vibrant schooling fish admired for its brilliant neon-green horizontal stripe that runs from head to tail, glowing intensely under aquarium lighting. More subtle than its blue neon relatives, it adds a refined shimmer of colour that looks especially stunning in planted and blackwater-style aquariums.

These peaceful fish are best kept in schools of at least 8–10 individuals, where they feel more secure and display their most natural behaviour. In larger groups, their colours become more vivid and their movement through the mid-water column becomes more fluid and coordinated.

Green Neon Tetras thrive in well-planted aquariums with soft lighting, dark substrate, and stable water conditions. They are excellent community fish and mix well with other small, non-aggressive species. A varied diet including high-quality flakes, micro pellets, and small frozen or live foods will keep them healthy and colourful.
