The Hengeli Rasbora (Trigonostigma hengeli) is a small, elegant schooling fish known for its slender silver body and distinctive orange wedge-shaped marking near the rear of its body. Often confused with similar rasbora species, it stands out under good lighting with a subtle iridescent shimmer and a very active, graceful swimming style.
These peaceful fish are best kept in schools of at least 8–10 individuals, where they display natural shoaling behaviour and feel more secure. They thrive in well-planted aquariums with dark substrate, floating plants, and open swimming areas that mimic their natural blackwater environments.
Hengeli Rasboras are hardy and easy to care for when kept in stable conditions. They accept a wide range of foods including quality flakes, micro pellets, and small frozen or live foods such as daphnia and baby brine shrimp.
